Grandma’s Favorite Apple Pies
This recipe is just like my MeeMaw used to make but the handheld version! With a sweet salted caramel apple pie filling inside and a buttery, flaky pie crust these hand pies are such a great thanksgiving treat! You will be surprised at just how easy these delicious pies are to make.
Ingredients
2 peeled and chopped granny smith apples
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp. Ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 Cup Salted Caramel Fruit Dip
2 pie crusts
Instructions
Peel and chop 2 granny smith apples.
In a large mixing bowl add apples, granulated sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt.
Mix together thoroughly then add in 1 cup Salted Caramel Fruit Dip from Taste of the South.
Take pie crusts and use a 3-inch round cutter to cut out 16 rounds.
Place the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Add apple mixture to the middle of the rounds.
Brush the dough edges with an egg wash and place another over top.
Seal the edges with your fingers and then take a fork all the way around to seal again,
Brush with egg wash one more time.
Cut 3 slits into the top to allow for the steam to come out.
Bake at 350 for about 15-25 minutes.
Enjoy!
